A new company, BLC Leathersellers Research Centre, formed by pooling the resources of British School of Leather Technology and BLC Leather Technology Centre, will undertake research and development for the leather industry around the world. Though the formal opening is scheduled for June 2000, the work at the centre is under way. The move is expected to improve the efficiency by cutting down any cost associated with duplication. The new company will cover a wide range of research in leather, making use of the strenghths of the two organisations, which are united not only by the field of study, but also by physical proximity. |
