Common Mistakes
in Design
- Shoes put into
production without testing patterns.
- Specification
sheet and assembly instructions not clear.
- Incomplete patterns.
- Patterns not
labelled and signed.
- Wrong patterns
given.
- Important instructions
given verbally. This leads to miscommunication or it is forgotten
soon.
- No fixed responsibility
for a style in the design department.
- Production card
for new styles not used.
- Master patterns
not traceable.
- Specification
changed but corresponding change in patterns not made. For example
close sole changed to welted sole patterns not changed.
