Global Learning at Global Leather

Footwear Industries of America (FIA) has just finalized an outstanding curriculum for Global Learning, its half-day, educational program presented in conjunction with Global Leather, FIA’s all-industry show from May 31 to June 1, 2000. Global Learning will open the event on Wednesday, May 31st, from 8:30 am to 12:45 pm, at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, MA. Global Leather is scheduled on Wednesday, May 31st from 1 to 6 p.m. and on Thursday, June 1st from 9 am to 5 pm.

Developed by FIA as an educational and networking complement to Global Leather, this year’s Global Learning takes a state-of-the-art look at what the next century will bring to our industry. Global Learning will concurrently present: Track 1- Leather: The Main Ingredient; Track 2- Commercialization of New Products from Design to Retail; and Track 3- Perspectives on Global Sourcing.

'Global Learning provides companies and their executives with the perfect venue for expanding their knowledge base, accessing vital information critical to our global industry and forging new relationships for future business opportunities,' reports Fawn Evenson, President of FIA. 'Global Learning enhances Global Leather by facilitating greater communication among suppliers, manufacturers, designers, product developers and line builders. FIA is delighted to organize a forum that brings all of these segments of the industry together.'

Moderated by the leading experts in the field, Global Learning will showcase:

New this year! The Two/Ten International Foundation will hold its 61st annual New England Golf Outing on Tuesday, May 30, 2000, the day before Global Leather. The event will be held at the Waverly Oaks Golf Club, in historic Plymouth, MA.

FIA’s annual luncheon will follow Global Learning on May 31st. The fee to attend Global Learning and the industry luncheon is $125 per person.
