The absence of authentic data on several vital aspects of the Indian leather industry has led to conflicting stands in assessing production, employment and consumption. Realising the need for such data the Central Leather Research Institute shouldered the responsibility of conducting a "Nationwide Survery on Leather Products Units". The results of this survey is regrouped and provided in this section.
