Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India Established in 1920, the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India is the oldest apex chamber of commerce and industry in India. Promoted by the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Calcutta), Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Mumbai), Cochin Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Cochin), Indian Merchants' Chamber (Mumbai), Madras Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Chennai) and PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, New Delhi, ASSOCHAM represents the interest of more than 1,00,000 direct and indirect members. ASSOCHAM's members represent trade (national and international), industry (domestic and international), professionals (e.g. CAs, lawyers, consultants), trade and industry associations and other chambers of commerce. The members can be promoter chambers, ordinary members, patron members or corporate associates. Among the ASSOCHAM's members are Associated Cement Companies Limited, Bajaj Auto Limited, Coca-Cola Limited, Essar Group, GE International, Hindustan Lever Limited, I.T.C. Limited, ICICI, Mahindra & Mahindra Limited, State Bank of India and Tata Sons Limited. Membership Details Patron Members: Any corporate body together with its associates is eligible to become a Patron Member of the Association provided it is of sufficient size, importance and national standing. Patron Members of the Association is represented by 50 members on the Managing Committee. Annual subscription is Rs.3,00,000. Ordianary Members: Any chamber of commerce, trade or industrial association registered or otherwise with a minimum annual gross income of Rs.50,000/- and with at least 5 years continuous existence is eligible to become an Ordinary Member of the Association. Ordinary Members of the Association is represented by 35 members on the Managing Committee. Corporate Associates: Any firm, sole proprietary concern, company, body corporate, society or other body engaged in trade, commerce, agriculture, services or profession is eligible to become a Corporate Associate.
