The Indian Leather
Garment Association is a non-profit organisation registered under the
Societies Registration Act 1860 at New Delhi. The association's main
objective is to support and promote the manufacture and exports of leather
garments.
Objectives
- To unite the
Indian Leather Garments Manufacturers and Exporters with a view to
protect, support, maintain, increase and promote the exports of leather
garments, allied leather articles, products and bye-products resulting
in overall growth of this sector.
- To undertake
all such measures as may be necessary to assist, support, promote
and improve production of leather garments for exports.
- To act as a catalyst
between the Indian Leather Garment Exporters and various Government
agencies to take care of problems relating to finance, customs, policy,
incentives, etc., and to make such recommendations and suggestions
as may be necessary or expedient.
- To render all
possible assistance to the Central and State Government and Public
Bodies for the growth and development of leather garment industry.
Services
- Assists the
leather garment importers in identifying suppliers from India.
- Undertakes scientific
research, education and training programmes to further the development
of Indian leather garment industry.
- Awards grants,
scholarships, fellowships & other such similar assistance.
- Promotes research
and development with the aid of foreign research institutions.
- Provides information
on trade and commerce especially government policies, procedures and
investments related to this sector.
- Settles disputes,
if any, amicably to harmonize industrial and trade activities.
- Provides marketing
services
